In order to respond to this new culture of immediacy where at any time and in any place the consumer wants, with his cell phone, to be able to take what he needs to solve the situation "of the moment", Martín Grosbard, founder and partner of Qüem, developed an automatic freezer with artificial intelligence .

It is a product very similar to what is known as a " vending machine", those vending machines found in shopping malls or clinic guards, with the difference that the user opens the door from his cell phone, takes what he wants and it goes.

The Frozen Point is an intelligent freezer that can be installed in the hall of your building. There, without delay, without queuing and without cash, the user will be able to grab the dessert and/or product that he wants to satisfy his need .

"Three years ago we started working on the development of a smart freezer. Inspired by Amazon Go technology. We believe that the fact of being able to have products available 24 hours a day and not needing any means of payment other than the cell phone it is totally innovative," says Grosbard, who together with his partners have invested more than US$100,000, including technology, development and equipment.

Amazon Go is a network of electronic supermarkets. They are stores that do not have physical cashiers, where people scan their QR code to take the product they want and withdraw.

Grosbard also explains that "there is no pre-selection, no tokens, no cash, and no collections. The transaction is handled through a mobile app. It's all electronic, all artificial intelligence," he remarks. The system performs a product recognition every 0.02 seconds with an accuracy of 99.7%. High accuracy in image recognition is observed.

The concept is 100% focused on consumer comfort. The buyer, through the cell phone, scans the QR code and only touches the button that says "open door" to choose the products that he wishes to take and once he closes the freezer door, the economic transaction is generated.

What if the consumer regrets or decides to exchange the item? You can do this as long as the freezer door stays open.

STORAGE AND BILLING

In volume, the freezer can store up to 700 pots of 150 grams, for example; and it has a variety of 50 different products such as frozen yogurt, desserts, vegan ice creams, pizzas and ready meals. Qüem established alliances with the main brands in the frozen market.

In terms of billing, a Frozen Point with a good location can bill more than $2,000,000 per month . The frequency in the replacement of the products is key.

By 2022 they plan to triple the points of sale . To date, the first 50 units (of a total of 200 that have been agreed upon) are already operating in condominiums, high-rise buildings and gyms.

The first to have access to the freezer were its current franchisees and its main suppliers. In the future they plan to offer this equipment on loan to people who want to operate it and have access to a good location.

What is the profit of the person who invests in Frozen Point? A Frozen Point does not have the fixed costs of a traditional store and is available 24 hours a day all year round. The profit they estimate exceeds 45% on sales.

"The expectations are enormous. We managed to incorporate advanced technology into a freezer. In this way, everyone can have frozen products 24 hours a day and have them at home. We believe that the frozen food market in Argentina is booming. This is just starting.", concludes the entrepreneur.
