Las autoridades talibanes de Afganistán dijeron el domingo que a las mujeres que buscan viajar largas distancias no se les debe ofrecer transporte por carretera a menos que vayan acompañadas de un pariente masculino cercano.

La guía emitida por el Ministerio para la Promoción de la Virtud y la Prevención del Vicio provocó la condena de los activistas de derechos y pidió a los propietarios de vehículos que se negaran a llevar a las mujeres que no llevaban velo.

La medida sigue la línea de los talibanes que impiden que muchas mujeres en puestos del sector público regresen al trabajo después de su toma del poder el 15 de agosto, y que obliga a las niñas a permanecer en gran parte aisladas de la educación secundaria estatal.

The interpretation of the Hiyab Taliban, which can range from hair coverage to a facial veil or for the whole body, is not clear, and most Afghan women already wear handkerchiefs in their heads.
