Regional and local authorities, as well as entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs from the Llanquihue Lake basin, met in the town of Puerto Octay to sign an agreement between the local municipality, the Instituto Profesional AIEP and Sercotec Los Lagos, seeking to enhance support for microenterprises and enterprises in the area, channelling them through the work of the Business Center of Puerto Varas. On the occasion was also presented a guide that contains an important part of the tourist offer of the Lacustre commune.
One of the signatories to this collaboration agreement was Andrés Santana, Regional Director of Sercotec, who highlighted the joint work with the local municipality, and valued the efforts developed so far by the Business Center: "when we set out to open a new business center for the Llanquihue Lake Basin we did so thinking of a protagonist of local development, integrated with each of the Lacustres communes and providing advice and excellent support to small and micro businesses of local tourism in order to enhance this industry. We hope that this tourist guide and this agreement will strengthen the work with the commune of Puerto Octay, its entrepreneurs and be a model to follow with Cochamó, Frutillar, Llanquihue and Puerto Varas. "
For his part and after the signing of the agreement, the mayor of Puerto Octay, Gerardo Gunckel, pointed out the importance that the tourism sector can have for the development of the commune and its inhabitants: "this is a propitious way to develop our people, and especially those who enter the tourism sector. Tourism, as an item in Puerto Octay, has a lot of potential yet to be delivered, and this agreement seeks precisely to standardize the offer, to value our tourism entrepreneurs, and hopefully to formalize the ventures so that we can have offers that can be disseminated on a wider platform, "said the community authority.

As indicated after the ceremony, the AIEP Professional Institute will play an important role in future work with local entrepreneurs, as reported by the Executive Director of Puerto Montt headquarters, Roberto Urtubia: "we are committing ourselves as an institution of higher education to generate these instances for our graduates to carry out their practices in support of SMEs and small entrepreneurs in the commune."
As an advance of the projections that this work can have with AIEP students, at the ceremony a guide was presented to the community that collects and displays a series of local ventures, work developed by a graduate student of the design career of this institute.
