The previous record of infections in a single day was last January 19, when the South American country reported 204,854, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) of the 27 Brazilian states. Brazil also added 570 deaths associated with COVID-19 on the last day, bringing the total balance of deaths to 624,413 and that of infected more than 24.5 million since the outbreak of the virus in the country, almost two years ago. Brazil is the second most deceased country in the world by COVID-19, with 624,413, just after the United States, and the third with the most positive, with 24,535,884, after the US and India.
