In northern Santander, there are several foundations that help boost young people to form in a different environment and can get ahead, away from the dangers to which they are exposed today.
This is the purpose that the non -profit foundation meets empirical arts, which supports children and young victims of the armed conflict in the border zone to form them in theater, dance and painting, exploring their artistic talents.
Initiative that benefits people from Cúcuta and Villa de Rosario since 2014, where through art, they seek to forget the bitter times of the conflict.
For this reason, every year they launch the campaign ‘Ponte in their shoes’, aimed at this population and backed by social leaders of the city, to carry happiness during the December era.
This campaign was born two years ago and aims to collect clothing, shoes, toys and food to deliver them to children and young people.
Martha Mora, creator of the campaign and legal representative of the Foundation mentioned that, what is sought through these initiatives is to raise awareness among people to put themselves in the shoes of children and young victims of the armed conflict, which reach a territoryUnknown with the amount of problems, few opportunities and grow with low self -esteem.
“This is a call to solidarity, but also to collective consciousness, to think that there is a population that needs a friendly hand.The idea is not to make ourselves known from the pity, but from the ability to get up, continue and dream, ”said Mora.
