The main companies in the country received recognition this Tuesday after more than 20 months of pandemic with the delivery of the 2021 Fortuna Awards, which Editorial Perfil awards to the most outstanding of the year in each category. Within this framework, the open television channel Bravo TV was presented, which Editorial Perfil and Grupo Crónica will launch in March 2022.
The ceremony began just after 6:00 p.m. and was attended by leaders from the business and political world. In addition to the winners in each category, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta (Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires), Miguel Pesce (President of the Central Bank), Juan Ross (Secretary of Communication of the Presidency), Eduardo Eurnekian (Corporación América) were invited. and Martín Redrado (former president of the Central Bank).
The host Adelmo Gabbi (Bolsa de Comercio), Mario Grinman (Chamber of Commerce), José Urtubey (Celulosa Argentina), Luis Juez (national senator) and Luciano Laspina (national representative), among others, were also present.
Marcelo Figueiras, president of Laboratorios Richmond, was one of the most applauded. The company he runs received the award in the Health category, while he personally won the Entrepreneur of the Year category after an outstanding 2021 in which he began to produce the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in his laboratory.
Halfway through the ceremony, the co-founder and CEO of Editorial Perfil, Jorge Fontevecchia, and the CEO of Grupo Crónica, Raúl Olmos, presented a preview of the new channel that will hit open digital television in March 2022 : BravoTV.
The channel will be focused on entertainment, fiction and information, combining reality shows with soap operas and news segments.
Olmos highlighted the launch of Bravo TV as a new milestone in the growth of the business group that he has led since 1998 and which includes health, drugstores, insurance and media. In this last category, it has the channels Crónica HD, Canal de la Música, the newspapers Crónica, BAE Negocios and La Opinión Austral in digital and printed versions, the sites Veintitrés, Diario Show and Depo and the radio stations FMQ and LU12 AM680 from Rio. Gallegos and FM Laser 92.9 of the LOA Group.
Fontevecchia highlighted Editorial Perfil's association with “the company that has the most knowledge of this audience” to which the channel is directed, “which is Crónica”.
The presentation was given by Ceferino Reato, director of Fortuna magazine, who clarified that, although the awards are usually given in August, this was the first edition of the event since the beginning of the pandemic, so this year it was decided to celebrate it in December so as not to wait until mid-2022.
“The pandemic forced us to make unexpected decisions, not in relation to profit but to protect employees and the community,” Reato highlighted when alluding to the complicated situation that companies had to go through. “It is an award for dreams, effort and progress”, he added.
The biggest applause went to Rubén Cherñajovsky when he received the Gold award for Newsan, a company he co-founded and of which he is the main shareholder. Minutes before, the CEO of the company, Luis Galli, had taken the stage to receive the Silver award.
Fontevecchia, delivered both statuettes and was in charge of clarifying that the winners are not chosen at discretion but based on the annual balance sheets, although in this case the period from August 2019 to August 2021 was taken.
While the Fortuna de Oro award is given to the best company in the country, the Silver one is given to the company that increased its billing the most in the year among the 20 largest in Argentina.
Newsan also won the award for the best company in the Home Appliances category, making it the only company to win three statuettes in history.
