The electrical appliance chains were the first to decide to grant 12 and 18 interest-free installments - last weekend - and in recent days other brands from various fields have joined, according to the Infobae site.
One of the novelties is that several brands of clothing, footwear and toy stores, which until last month offered three installments without interest -and only some-, from Thursday began to grant 12 payments at the same price as in cash.
According to a survey carried out in shopping malls by the Argentine Industrial Chamber of Clothing (Ciai), which reproduces the Buenos Aires media, 27 of the 69 brands observed are offering 3, 6 and 12 installments without interest, while almost 60 grant up to six payments at the same price.
The explanation is that the nominal annual rate (TNA) of the program was reduced from an average of 45 to 20 percent, a figure that is being absorbed by most businesses in order to seduce consumers and sell more.
According to the lists published by the national government, these are the brands adhered to the "Now 12 without interest" (to buy in 3, 6, 12 and 18 fixed installments with a credit card).
