After establishing itself in the sunglasses market, the Spanish firm Hawkers has made the leap into fashion. Yesterday Join the jet set, his first capsule clothing collection, went on sale. This collection includes 32 limited edition garments (only 500 units of each design have been created) and made in Europe origin.
In them we can find sweatshirts, joggers, t-shirts or crop tops, garments almost all unisex and with a marked athleisure style. Prices range from 25 euros for some t-shirts to 65 euros for some sweatshirts.
Founded in 2013 in Elche (Alicante) by Iñaki Soriano, Pablo Sánchez, and the brothers Alejandro and David Moreno, Hawkers is one of the success stories of the entrepreneurial scene in our country in the last decade. From the beginning, the firm opted for the elimination of intermediaries, the presence of social networks and the collaboration with other brands and celebrities such as the actress Paula Echeverría or the soccer player Luis Suárez to boost its business. It quickly became the best-selling sunglasses brand online in Spain.
In 2014 the company had a turnover of more than 15 million euros; in 2015, 40 million, and in 2018 it announced that it expected to close the year with a turnover of 300 million. After the entry of external investors, the founders and the management team left the company that same year, now chaired by the Venezuelan Alejandro Betancourt. Currently, it is present in more than 80 countries through marketplaces and has a network of 85 points of sale in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and the United Kingdom.
