Who doesn't love to shop at Costco? One of the favorite places to go for everything you need for the home.

One of the great reasons to shop at Costco is because you can save a lot more money, however, it is not the perfect retailer for every purchase and you should think twice before putting certain items in your cart.

10 Things You Should Avoid Buying at Costco

    10. Brand clothing

Name-brand clothing may not be a true bargain at Costco. Research by Vox and other publications has found that most of the name-brand clothing you'll find in warehouses, discount stores, and factories isn't actually leftover inventory; they are made specifically for those retailers that use cheaper materials and cheaper labor.

    9. Books

Although it has a long table of stacked books, you'll notice right away that it doesn't have a huge selection and its prices aren't stellar bargains.

The reality is that Costco is not looking to become a fashion store, so the products they sell are not fashionable.

    7.Personal care products

Costco isn't the best place to shop for toiletries, bargain-hunting experts say. Supermarkets and pharmacies often offer these types of items with coupons.

    6. Cereals

Although Costco's cereal prices aren't terrible, most grocery stores and drugstores offer discounts on the same brands and will often offer additional coupons for those items.

    5.Diapers

It's not necessarily a bad decision to buy your diapers in bulk at Costco, but you can find them cheaper at other stores.

    4. Suitcases

Before buying any briefcase, make sure it is resistant and suits your needs. The prices are quite good in luggage and suitcases, but many times they are not of the best quality.

    3.Toilet paper

Not only does Costco-brand toilet paper offer little to no savings, it's also poor quality.

    2.Spices

The spices at Costco may be cheap per ounce, but unless you're going to spend a huge jar of cinnamon in the next few months, you might as well be throwing money away. Spices have a much shorter shelf life than you might imagine. Ground spices will start to go rancid after only six months.

    1.Certain televisions

Although you can find a good discount on TVs for sale at Costco, keep in mind that the selection is much smaller than what you'll find elsewhere, so you may not always be able to buy what you're looking for. Also, you can sometimes find the same TVs for a lower price at other retailers.
