El Indianápolis Motor Speedway recupera a los fans, que podrán acudir en un número no superior a los 135.000
The 'back Home again in Indiana' will make more sense than ever in the next edition of Indianapolis 500 miles (30 May). Because the mythical race, which this year celebrates its 105th edition, will regain its soul: the most famous oval in the world will receive the fans again, though not with full capacity.
Indianapolis health authorities have authorized Indycar to open the doors of the facility with a maximum capacity of 40%. That is, up to 135,000 people will be admitted... A crowd, though nothing compared to the 300,000 spectators it hosted in its 100th edition, in 2016 (the last year the 'complete' poster was hung) in the stands.
However, there will be sanitary measures in the premises that are obligatory for everyone, such as the use of masks. The temperature shall be measured at the accesses and the distance between fans shall also be controlled. The natural stands will not be opened and the facilities will be cleaned and disinfected.
The usual 500 Mile program, however, cannot be completed, as Carb Day, legends Day and race day concerts will not be held. And as it arrives on May 30, Indianapolis Motor speedway continues to be employed as one of the largest mass vaccination centers on the planet.
