There are still gaps in Peruvian education. Following the data collected by the RPP platform, until the end of 2019, the Ponte en Carrera website of the Ministry of Education (Minedu) indicated that the salary of a teacher in the private sector ranged between S/ 900 and S/ 3,100 on average.

Only initial education teachers have an approximate remuneration of S/ 1,297, with the maximum salary being around S/ 1,800. In the case of primary school teachers, the salary varies between S/ 900 to S/ 1,800. While for secondary education, the salary is between S/ 1,000 and S/ 1,700.

The fact: The complete monthly remuneration (RIM) is an amount that is given in a general way to all teachers appointed based on their teaching scale and the work day.

WHY WAS THE SALARY NOT INCREASED IN 2021?
